Who is Lacey Pamer?
I am a third generation American, first generation college graduate, and a first generation professional. I grew up in the cornfields of northern Indiana with parent's who both worked at factories. My parents taught me the value of working hard and being passionate about anything and everything I do.
In February 2019, I started an internship with the U.S. Department of State in the Bureau of Public Affairs in the Office of Public Engagement. I assisted with a number of high level events, but my absolute favorite experience was helping with NATO. This was my first experience working within the federal government, and I went on to intern at the National Credit Union Administration. I graduated in December 2019, and was able to secure a job at the U.S Customs and Border Protection agency. Notably to me, I had my job interview on March 13, the day COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in the United States. I joined the Digital Engagement social media team on August 3. On February 7, 2022, I started a temporary detail with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a Social Media Strategist for four months. In July 2024, I changed sectors and moved to the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board to help them launch their social media presence and work on their interal communications. When I'm not working, you'll find me walking to the National Mall, because even after living in D.C. for nearly five years, I still love it. If I'm not walking, I'll be at my laptop (with my 18-year-old cat snoring in my lap) thinking up a new design for an art print to list on Etsy or working on the latest draft of my fiction novel.
